Tokyo part 1 - Shinjuku and Shibuya

For those people who have read my blogs before you would know that I get air sick on planes, but this time I didn’t get sick at all. I watched a couple of movies but that didn’t take up the whole ten-hour flight. The movies that I watched were the new Ice Age movie, “Back to the Future” and half of “Crocodile Dundee”, which took up about 5-6 hours of the flight but the rest of the time I played on my iPad.

After we landed and went through all the customs we went in a hotel car to the hotel. We are staying in a hotel called the Park Hyatt which had a movie filmed in it called “Lost in Translation” which is one of my Dad’s favourite movies. The hotel is really nice and fancy and we have a great view of Mount Fuji and the city. After we had a look at our room we had dinner and then went to bed.

Also, a lot of the toilets including the one in our hotel room, squirt water up your bum to clean all the poo off. You can adjust the temperature of the water and the pressure of the water. You can also adjust the heat of the seat and the dryer.

The next morning, I woke up, went on my iPad, then we went to have breakfast in the hotel. It was nice, I had bacon and eggs. When we finished having breakfast we went to get are tickets validated for the train (they are pretty much like paper Mykis. Well turns out that we were in the biggest train station in the world. It took us an hour to find out where to go.

We caught a train to Harajuku to go to a very big park called “Mogokoro” we walked around for a while and it was so cool. Then we went to a shrine in the park called “Meiji Jinga” we looked around there and prayed. After that we went down a side street full of shops called Takeshita street ha-ha yes very funny. The street was really crowded and the shops sold some weird T-shirts and giant fairy floss.

We went back to Harajuku station and caught the train to Shibuya we went past the worlds busiest intersection, you can even cross diagonally there. Then after we crossed the road we went to get lunch except my dad went record shopping while my mum and I had lunch. Then on the way back we took some photos of the intersection. I even climbed up on something right next to the busy road to take a photo.

On the way back from the biggest train station in the world to our hotel we stopped to watch some people play soccer. They were kind enough to let me join in. Not that long into the game the team I was on got a penalty because of a handball. They let me take the penalty and shot and it went in, it was a pretty good penalty. Later on the other team scored a goal. It was really fun.

When the game finished we went back to the hotel and went to the hotel restaurant hotel to get dinner I had a yummy steak and for dessert I had a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. Then after that we went back to the room and then went to bed.

The second day we explored the Shinjuku area of Tokyo. My dad who listens to a lot of music went to two record stores called Disc union, both stores were seven stories high. That took two and a bit hours which was a bit boring for me. Then we went to golden guy which is a whole heap of tiny bars and restaurants which only fit 5-6 people! Then we explored the Kabuki-Cho area which was filled with loads of lights and lot of noise and lot of crazy stuff. We played a weird drum game in an arcade and for some reason my dad and I got 2 extra games. Then we walked back to the hotel and I had a sandwich for dinner and a piece cake then I went to bed.

The third day we went to the Municipal building and took some cool panorama photos. We went in a photo booth which is a first for me. At the top of the building we had a very good view of the city which is only buildings and nothing else. Then we caught a train to Yoyogee. One of my Uncle’s friends was in search for the greatest Sasebo burger and he found it. He was on Japanese TV, so we had the Sasebo burger from that place he recommended to everyone on that show. Then we went back to Harajuku and we looked at another shrine called Togo Shrine. We prayed and walked around the shrine for a while. My parents took photos of the first blossoms. Then we came back to our hotel because it got really cold and really wet. Then we went to a restaurant which had really good food. It was kind of like a fondue. When we finished we went to our room and went to bed.

China - Beijing

When we arrived in Beijing it was late in the day and surprisingly warm. The first thing that we did was to organise a tour to the Great Wall and a wake up call at 6:15am. Then we went to bed.

When we woke up we put our clothes on and went to get some breakfast before the tour but it was 3:15am! Dad thinks they misunderstood when we organised the wake up call. We put our PJs back on, set our phone alarm and went back to sleep. At 6:15am we woke up, got dressed had breakfast and went on the tour.

The drive to the Great Wall was two and a half hours long. Our tour guide’s name was Leo. He told us he was famous and was on Australian radio and TV. He was a funny guy and very interesting. We drove to a part of the great wall which was right next to Mongolia. We walked for a long time on the Great Wall and my dad and I even went past the point that Leo told us not to pass. Then we had to get back to have lunch and we were late with our tour group after that we drove back to all the people's hotels and we were the first stop. Then after that we had buffet for dinner and it tasted very good.

The next day we woke up and then went went to Silk Street which was a lot of shops that had fake stuff. For lunch we went to a restaurant called Dadong so dad could have the best Peking Duck in Beijing. It was really good, it came out with traditional pancakes, puffy bread, cucumber, radishes, pickles, sugar, garlic, sauce and onion. In the evening we went to Wangfujing street and looked at all the street food. They had weird food like scorpions, starfish, crickets and seahorses. They also had dumplings, drinks and toffee fruit. It was a stinky street. We didn’t eat anything there.

The next day we went on a tour and we were the only people on the tour. Our tour guide was Jamie. He was really nice.  First we looked at Tiananmen Square then we walked around the Forbidden City. We went to the Heavenly Temple next and watched people dancing, doing tai chi and playing hacky sack. Jamie bought me a hacky sack to play with at home. After that we had lunch and went to the Summer Palace.

On our last day in Beijing we went to the shopping centre near by the hotel. We looked at the shops, had some ice-cream and looked at a supermarket. They had lots of yummy food to try like cake, strawberries, cookies and more. We watched a guy cutting up a pineapple and packing it ready to sell. There was also an ice skating rink at the shopping centre and most of the people skating were really good. We swam in the hotel pool.

Hong Kong

On Thursday morning we got up early and Oma and Opa took us to the airport. We were going on a trip to Hong Kong and China. First stop was Hong Kong for three nights.

When we got on the plane I was a bit worried I would not feel well but I felt fine up until the end because we had to wait to land so we circled for a bit. I watched Star Wars VII on the plane.

When we got off the plane we caught a taxi to the hotel, we had some food and then went to bed. When I woke up in the morning we went to have breakfast downstairs. After that we went to the science museum for most of the day. It was very fun then we went and looked at the Peninsula Hotel and we saw a Rolls Royce. After that we had lunch at a Sushi train place. We went back to the hotel and had a swim. Then we had a snack in the hotel lounge on the top floor, looked at the view and then went to bed.

When I woke up in the morning we went downstairs to have breakfast then we walked along Victoria Harbour. We took a ferry to go to Hong Kong island. We walked until we saw the line for the tram, so instead we caught a taxi to the mountain called Victoria Peak. We went to the Sky Terrace and could see Kowloon across the harbour, and parts of Hong Kong Island. We went and had lunch and then managed to get on the tram to get back down the mountain. Then we went in a taxi to Man Mo temple and there was so much smoke and it hurt my eyes. Then we went back to Kowloon we went into our hotel room so I could type this blog.

Perth

When we woke up in the morning we had breakfast (I had bacon, eggs, bread and sausage). After that we drove to Perth it took just under 4 hours to get there in the car. We stopped off at another cave called Ngilgi it was my favourite cave you could go in a crawling tunnel under rocks and bridges. We also stopped at a lighthouse and just went back in the car and then drove to Perth.

When we arrived I just played on my iPad until we went to a pizza place to meet my dads friend Carmel when we got back we went to bed. The next day we went to a museum  that was very fascinating. It did not have very many dinosaurs. Then we went to A little garden then we walked along the water and then we went back and then I played on my iPad then watched a movie then we went to bed. P.S We also had room service.

Margaret River

The drive to Margaret River was 3 hours and 30 minutes. Along the way we saw some animals that included cows, sheep, pigs, camels, kangaroos and deers. Along the way we stopped in Bunbury for lunch. The place that we ate in had swings that you could sit in while you ate, I had a Burger. We also stopped at the longest Jetty in the southern hemisphere it was 1.8 km long and you had to pay to go on it. My dad and I went on a boat ramp and got splashed by some water.

When we arrived in Margaret River we just went to the shops and bought some things. Then we went back to Basildene Manor and read I read the 39 Storey Treehouse. Then we went downstairs and played some scrabble and I lost the game of scrabble then we went back up and had dinner and then went to bed. When I was in bed I read the 39 Storey Treehouse and I finished reading it. Then I went to sleep.

The next day we woke up had breakfast (I had pancakes) and then we drove to the Cape Leeuwin light house were two oceans meet. It was very interesting, we got an audio guide. Then we went to the Jewel Cave and saw some amazing things like snowy looking rocks. The cave was filled with stalactites and stalagmites. Stalactites hang tight to the ceiling and stalagmites "might" reach the ceiling. Then we went to the Lake Cave which you can guess had a lake in it and it had a rock that was being held above the water. Then we went to the Mammoth cave and this cave was self guided and we saw some ancient animal bones. They had bones from giant kangaroos and Giant Wombat like creates. They also found Tasmanian Devil Tasmanian Tiger (Thylacine) bones in these cave. After a long day we head back to Basildene Manor. Then we went to a Japanese restaurant called Mikis and they cooked right in front of us. When we got back we went to bed.

A New Trip - Fremantle

We got up early on Monday morning at 5:41. When I woke up I screamed "Oh my gosh we are going to Perth!" We all had showers got changed and we were at the airport an hour and half later.

At the airport we all had breakfast and I had toast. I played word mania and Minecraft until our flight to Perth was called. The flight went for 4 hours and 20 minutes. I was listening to my favourite band called Gorillaz for the whole time! Luckily I was not sick on this flight.

When we arrived in Perth we picked up our car which is a big, red Toyota Camry. We drove all the way to Fremantle listening to the GPS and we listened to a band called Blur. When we arrived at the apartment I quickly chose the room with the TV in it. After that we drove into town and saw the round house which was used as a prison and is the oldest building in Fremantle. After that we went to Cicerellos. This restaurant is 112 years old and it is famous for its seafood and I ordered pizza.

Near the restaurant and the big Ferris wheel there was a statue of Bon Scott who was the original singer of ACDC. Then we drove back to the apartment and relaxed and I read the 26 storey treehouse (now I am up to the 39 storey treehouse).

The next day we went out exploring we first went to Fremantle prison for a tour called doing time and we learned some interesting facts about this prison. When that had finished we had lunch I had sticky lamb ribs. Then we went to a shipwreck museum that was not really to my interest but I did not complain about it. After that we went to the Maritime museum and we searched the boats our ancestors came on. We saw a humungous ship that was around 235 metres long and 50 metres high I chased it along the foot path every body was taking photos of it. Then we caught the bus to were we parked the car and then we went back to the apartment and I read the 39 storey treehouse.

There is a 2 hour time difference from Perth to Melbourne.
